Ever since I was little, I always dreamt of being in a sorority. My mom, grandma, and aunts all were involved in greek life at their college. I would always hear about the fun stories and memories that they shared with their sorority sisters. I even began to realize how life long friendships are formed with your sorority sisters because my mom still to this day makes yearly beach trips with them. High school was not the best for me as I never really felt like I had the strongest friends, but I had hope that coming to college with the hope of joining a sorority that feeling would change. And it did. I pledged Delta Gamma, just like my grandmother. This was really special because not only was she my grandma but she was also a sister. My twin sister went through recruitment a few weeks later after I pledged and she ended up pledging Delta Gamma as well at her college. We were now sisters x2. I was so happy that
we both ended up in the same house. On bid day, I met two girls on the party bus who are now two of my closest friends. I did not even think that just on the first day, I would meet so many people who cared about each other and their interests. It's not just about the t-shirts and date parties. I feel like sometimes we all get caught up in that but at the end of the day being a Delta Gamma has brought me friends for a lifetime. It feels so good to have people on your side who want the best for you and will always cheer you on. I look forward to meeting more girls in my pledge class and growing closer with my friends I have now. It will be so fun to live in the house next year and get closer with all of the girls. I am excited for bid day this summer so I can give other girls the same and fun experience that I had! Since I will be a Senior next year, I am going to have to soak in all the lasts moments.
One thing that has been so fun about being a Delta Gamma is all the fun t-shirts we get to create for the events we put on. We have had so many girls in Delta Gamma create shirts through TGI Greek, which is a popular t-shirt organization that specializes in making personalized shirts for each chapter.
